AREVA Solar - Manufacturing:

AREVA Solar - Manufacturing supplies specially coated tubing products for use in our Solar Steam Generator projects throughout the world. A unique, continuous electrolytic plating line is in operation at our Las Vegas manufacturing facility which is employed to provide typical and selective coatings on boiler tubing. Close interaction between production and development organizations are required to meet schedules and advance the state of technology of coatings performance.

Job Description:

AREVA Solar is seeking a Plating Engineer for our Las Vegas facility.

Responsibilities and duties include:
* Provide manufacturing technical expertise and operational direction for a facility that manufactures selective coatings for solar steam generator applications.
* Ensure that the plating process is maintained and operational.
* Plan and implement laboratory and factory operations for the purpose of developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
* Maintain and operate a continuous plating line to produce conforming parts .
* Maintain wet process and plating tanks specifications as well as continuous processing equipment.
* Work with production as well as new developmental designs simultaneously.
* Ensure that all wet process/plating specifications and requirements are being strictly adhered.
* Conducts routine maintenance for manufacturing scale chemical baths (transfer, synthesis, replenishment).
* Mentor the Plating Line Operators to improve and become owners of the plating processes.
* Maintains accurate documentation through records and lab notebooks for all SOPs and QC requirements.
* Ensure compliance to the periodic testing and quality control requirements for plating solutions.
* Ensure that plating defects are analyzed through to root cause and corrective actions are implemented.
* Create applicable detailed work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
* Develop manufacturing plans that include specific sequencing with process and tooling requirements.
* Maintain all processes to meet internal/external ISO certifications.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
* BS degree in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
* 5 years hands on continuous nickel plating and waste streams treatment experience.
* Strong knowledge in wet chemical analytical techniques (titrations, pH monitoring, dilutions, etc).
* Experience in use of measuring technology ( XRF, magnetic induction, ECT, thickness and porosity).
* Understanding of environmental laws Hazmat, OSHA.
* Experience in data collection, problem-solving, troubleshooting chemical and metallurgical problems.
* Ability to supervise second shift operations.

* Familiar with SPC and Six Sigma concepts and a continuous improvement mentality
* Familiar with other areas of organic substrate fabrication
* Ability to manage numerous tasks while being complete and thoroughly customer-focused
* Strong communications and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
* Organized, detail-oriented
* Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
TRAVEL

Sporadic (<5%) domestic travel to visit suppliers and corporate headquarters in Mountain View, CA.
