Education Desired: Bachelors Degree in Related Field and / or Current Cisco Network Certification(s). Skills Required: The ability to operate, maintain, and manage communications and network systems including; Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), IP routers and switches; Type I encryption (KG-75A, KG-175, etc); experience with Fireberd and other test equipment;. A working knowledge of and experience in long haul communications functions and responsibilities as outlined in DISA Circular 310-70-1. Skills Desired: CCNA, CCNP, 3-5 Years experience in digital video compression and encoding technology. Familiarity with video encoding technology, UDP/IP multicast technology, cell mux technology, Prior military technical control experience a plus. Position Description: The successful candidate will serve as a communications technician supporting 24/7 operations of critical real time USAF/ANG mission operations. Must be able to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and manage telecommunications and networking equipment. Provide reports, complete requests for new service, determine methodology for installing communications service, determine need for configuration changes or modifications to switches, trunks, links, and circuits. The position may require shift work or on-call availability. Security Clearance:Active Top Secret or higher.
