Jr. Level SAS Data Analyst
Position Summary:
This position is to support the Operation manager in the maintenance of the SAS CSS. The SAS CSS will be designed to support production reporting for Dealer Banking, Deposit and Credit Card
80% Duties: Identify, develop and maintain key reports for use in credit & portfolio management
Work with analysts, programmers, managers, and other associates in the build and maintenance of a SAS CSS. Duties include landing data extracts from various source systems, monitoring and evaluating key indicator statistics and trends that affect TFSB credit card, deposit and mortgage portfolios. Develop dynamic and comprehensive portfolio tracking, vintage analyses, reporting, and forecasting systems on different sub-segments of the portfolio. Maintain and enhance existing portfolio reports, such as roll rate, first-pay default, monthly late-stage delinquency, collections strategy tracking, portfolio score validations and payment performance. Develop and deliver ad-hoc and standardized reporting to communicate to senior management as necessary. Develop and maintain scorecard validation and characteristic analyses and reporting routines. Gather and analyze data through different platform extracts, Business Objects and SAS programs to determine impact to business operations.
10% Duties: Analyze the TFSB portfolios on key performance metrics.
Perform research and analytical efforts on TFSB booked accounts to drive financial performance. Create datasets to support reporting activities, customer behavior modeling, strategy development and tracking, and portfolio performance. Design, develop and implement portfolio management reports necessary to meet Profit and Loss targets for use in regular business review by a wide audience, including Senior Management. Analyze key performance metrics and trends in TFSB’s credit card portfolios as related to delinquencies, charge-off and other P&L behavior. Develop measurement and reporting routines to assess company risk concerning the origination and servicing of receivables. Forecast delinquencies and losses for TFSB portfolios to measure changes in the risk profile and create analytical tools to help better understand TFSB portfolio changes. Develop short and long term forecasting for sub-populations such as high risk segments and for specific portfolio pools. Provide support of research projects including data collection, analysis and presentation of results. Scope of analytical responsibilities vary from building econometric models which predict consumer and portfolio behavior to producing statistical summaries and cross tabulations. Write up results of quantitative analysis and prepare supporting materials for presentation to management.
10% Duties: Interface with TFS, TFSB, and US Bank Technical Teams
Ensure that leading-edge analytic capabilities are developed through legacy system enhancements and replacements. Responsible for specifying additional systems requirements and working with BTS to effect changes. Identify new opportunities to enhance functionality and implement changes which leverage technology in the collections and recovery areas. Assist in establishing a development environment that allows collections strategy and model development, validation, on-going tracking, simulation and all associated analytics. Specify systems requirements and work with the data warehouse team to effect changes. Use and evaluate the latest computer software with potential for improving productivity in reporting and analysis. Participate in projects and ad-hoc reviews as necessary.
