Job Description: Support sales in building relationships with potential customers, in order to familiarize the customers with Harris offerings at a technical level, to influence future specification documents, and to obtain first-hand knowledge of the customer’s needs. Support sales in developing advanced technical strategies in order to help the business reach its growth targets. Develop and design complex and innovative radio system solutions from a choice of Harris product lines, to satisfy customer-specified requirements while maximizing profitability and minimizing risks to Harris. Systems involve Harris equipment and often include microwave, data, and/or custom design peripheral subsystems. Exercises expert judgment in setting technical objectives. Relied upon as a subject matter expert and operates without significant direction. Provide proposal text and drawings that effectively describe the system solution being offered. Participate in discussions and presentations with customers, consultants, vendors and other Harris personnel as necessary to advance projects. Performs site visits and advanced presentations to customers. Coordinate technical transition of design to implementation system engineer after contract is awarded. 25% Travel required. Qualifications: BSEE or BSCpE degree or equivalent plus 10 years of wireless systems engineering experience, or Masters of EE or CpE plus 7 years of wireless systems engineering experience. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written communications). Preferred Additional Skills: Experience in design of IP networks, RF antenna systems, two-way radio systems, microwave systems, wireless data systems, data networking, as well as system configuration is desired. Able to work within a cross-functional team environment to drive system sales. Strong communication skills, verbal and written (English). Strong presentation skills. Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.
